These frosty summer sippers are a real reason to celebrate! Shared with friends or as a special solo treat they are the perfect cooling beverage anytime of day. I’ve included many options and flavour combinations for you to try but this is only just the beginning — get creative!
Cacao is high in magnesium so though it has an energizing effect it also is extremely soothing and calming to the body (especially great a week before menstruating for those who cycle… our cravings DO have a purpose 🙂 ).
Raw cacao is different than cocoa powder and retains more of its healing and nourishing properties due to less processing, but you can of course use whatever you have on hand for these recipes. If you need to stock up, my favourite place for cacao (and chocolate!) is Raaka out of Brooklyn, NY — they ship!
Also to note, the ratios in these recipes are my personal preferences but of course you can add, subtract, scale up / down, etc. to your heart’s content. I recommend enjoying on the spot though as they tend to split if refrigerated for too long — you could freeze any leftovers for additions to smoothies though for a low-waste situation!
