Sesame Sweeties

These are the cutest, most delicious little babes, perfect for when you just need a teeny hit of something sweet… Sesame Sweeties! I combined dates, tahini, and toasted sesame seeds to make a nourishing and satisfying snack for home or on-the-go. Store these in the fridge or freezer to answer the sweet call whenever you hear it! With this recipe as a base, add your own flair with extra spices, vanilla, cacao, citrus zest, or different nuts and seeds. Enjoy, sweetie!

Sesame Sweeties

Ingredients

  • cup / 60g sesame seeds un-hulled, if possible
  • 1 cup / 235g firmly packed soft, pitted dates
  • ¼ cup / 60ml tahini
  • ½ tsp. ground cardamom
  • ¼ tsp. fine sea salt

Directions

  • In a dry skillet over medium heat, toast the sesame seeds, stirring frequently, until fragrant and golden, about 4-5 minutes. Remove from heat, set aside and let cool.
  • Add the pitted dates to a food processor and blend until broken up and beginning to form a paste. Add the tahini and blend until fully combined. Lastly add the sesame seeds, cardamom, and salt. Blend and taste to adjust flavours as desired.
  • Roll the mixture into small-medium bite-sized balls! Store in the fridge for a week or in the freezer for up to 2 months.
