Sometimes when I really feel like changing it up, I make this sweet and delicious breakfast — perfect for a drizzly cold morning! Feel free to scale up the recipe but there’s something about making a big warm bowl all for yourself.
Chocolate Oatmeal
Ingredients
- ¾ cup / 75g rolled oats, soaked overnight
- 1 Tbsp. raw cacao powder
- 2-3 Tbsp. hemp seeds
- drizzle maple syrup
- ¼ tsp. flaky sea salt
Optional Toppings:
- banana
- walnuts
- cacao nibs
- nut butter
- hemp seeds
- nut milk
Directions
- Soak oats in filtered water and a splash of apple cider vinegar / lemon juice 8 hours or overnight! Drain and rinse.
- Bring approx. 1 cup / 250 ml filtered water to a boil, add soaked and drained oats, and simmer covered about 10 minutes, until oats are tender.
- Off the heat stir in the cacao powder, hemp seeds, drizzle of maple syrup, and flaky salt.
- Put in your favourite bowl, top to your heart's content, say thank you and enjoy!
