1-Ingredient Tangerine Dream Sorbet

No you’re not dreaming! It’s a 1-ingredient dessert that is almost effortless to make, and bursts with the juicy sweetness of tangerine goodness.

The secret to making this as sweet and delicious as possible is removing the pith (white part) of the citrus, since it gives a bitter flavour. You can also add honey or maple syrup to the blend, but in my opinion, it is perfect as is. You can always garnish with a little curl of dark chocolate 😉

If you have a high-speed blender, I recommend using it here, since it will give the smoothest and creamiest results. If you don’t, the sorbet will still be delicious, just a little less silky.

1-Ingredient Tangerine Dream Sorbet

Ingredients

  • 6 tangerines about 2 lbs / 1 kg, plus one more for garnish, if desired

Directions

  • Peel tangerines well, removing as much pith as possible (pith makes for a more bitter flavour). Divide the fruit into quarters, and place in a sealed container in the freezer overnight.
  • Once frozen, remove from the container and place in a food processor. Blend on high until they turn from dry and sandy texture, to a more smooth consistency.
  • As a last step, add the mixture to a high-speed blender and blend on high until completely smooth (if you don’t have a high speed blender, skip this step).
  • Pour the mixture into a container, and smooth out the top. Seal, and place in the freezer and freeze for at least 4 hours, or overnight.
  • To serve, scoop out the desired amount and garnish with a slice of tangerine. Say thank you and enjoy immediately.
