I believe that food can be used to support, correct, and heal imbalances in the body when given a chance! Sometimes when we’re feeling emotionally and physically drained, our nervous systems take a hit and could use a little grounding and nurturing. I offer this recipe as a balm for your entire being. Each of these simple ingredients are proven to positively impact the nervous system, and can help us adapt to stress in times of great shifts. I call it the Smooth Soother, and it’s a fruit-veggie-grain-tea-adaptogen mix that will calm you, while it goes to work on deeper levels.
Smooth Soother
Ingredients
- 1 cup / 130g frozen blueberries
- 1 cup / 40g lightly packed spinach
- 1 frozen banana
- ½ ripe avocado
- ¼ cup / 25g rolled oats soaked overnight
- 1 tsp. ashwaganda optional
- 1 cup / 250ml chamomile tea steeped and cooled
- 1-2 Tbsp. freshly squeezed lemon juice to taste
Directions
- Blend all ingredients together on high, taste and adjust flavours as desired. Take a deep breath, say thank you, and enjoy.
