Apple Cider Vinegar Produce Wash

This is a great way to expand yourself in the kitchen! Making your own fruit and veggie wash is simple, fast, and inexpensive. All it takes is water and some apple cider vinegar!

It’s best to wash your produce right before you enjoy it, especially things like berries and lettuces, since they will get pretty soggy when they are put back in storage.

I use this solution on non organically-grown foods, but will always wash produce at least under water, even from my own garden (ya know, most of the time).

Apple Cider Vinegar Produce Wash

Ingredients

  • 4 cups / 1 liter water
  • ½ cup / 125ml apple cider vinegar

Directions

  • Add the ACV to the water, add the produce, give it a swirl, and let sit for 5 minutes.
  • Drain, rinse, and dry on a clean tea towel before storing in the fridge or use / eat right away!

Notes

Makes 4 1/2 cups / 1L 125ml wash. Double for a larger batch, halve for a smaller batch, and reuse two or three times!
